I will have a limited number of breeding pairs for sale each year. Pairs are $65 per pair (young birds are $22.50 each). All breeding pairs are banded (seamless bands & pair bands) and free of worms and external parasites. Sales will be on a first come first serve basis. Payment must be made in full prior to shipping birds to buyers. I will only hold birds for buyers if a non-refundable deposit of $25 is made, or if payment has been made in full. In the past, I would hold birds for buyers without a deposit or payment. In many cases the buyer canceled the order after I held the birds for months ( this is why I now require a deposit or payment in full). If for some reason I cannot fill an order after a deposit or payment is made, I will make a full refund to the buyer. Payment may be made by personal check, Paypal (note, this will include an additional 3% added to the total cost), or a U.S. Postal Service money order. All personal checks must clear my bank before I can ship the birds.
Birds are shipped via the U.S Postal Service (USPS) in a box approved by USPS. Buyers pay for the cost of the box and all USPS shipping cost. USPS shipping cost varies with the size and weight of the box and the address the birds will be shipped to. Below are some shipping cost for birds shipped in 2011. Any overpayment of shipping cost is refunded to the buyer.
8 birds ($85to $110)
6 birds ($75 to $85)
4 birds ($70 to $75)
2 birds ($50 to $55)
I only ship birds from October thru May (due to excessive summer heat) and I only ship birds on Mondays or Tuesdays to allow for arrival before the end of the week. I have boxes for shipping 4 birds only. Contact me for more information on where to buy a box for shipping 2,6,or 8 birds. On rare occasions I might ship birds on cloudy or rainy summer days, particularly if they are being shipped to a northern state.
Buying Breeding Pairs
I pride myself in selling robust, healthy breeding stock that should produce quality squabs for you for many years. This requires constant attention to water & food quality, housing, pairing unrelated birds, and overall high quality avian husbandry.
